Many of us are familiar with the saying that we cannot love someone until we first fully love ourselves. And according to Angela Davis, professional athlete and fitness coach, this couldn't be more true as she asks you to embark on a journey toward achieving your fitness and health goals. Over the course of the 21 Days of Motivation and Movement series, you will learn to exercise and self-acceptance, which validates your vision, your intentions and your dreams.
What most people don't know about Angela is that when she was young she was always silly, often being called the class clown. As she's grown older, that side of her has not fallen aside. In fact, those qualities have helped bring her to where she is today, as a successful fitness coach and spin instructor. It has helped her realize her life's calling as an encourager. By accepting those quirks as a part of loving herself over the years, it helped Angela realize that she was more than enough and she was worthy of everything for which she strived.
So, how can we make strides toward accepting ourselves? Pay yourself a compliment. Say something sweet to yourself. Love yourself. What are your quirks? What makes you special? Embrace it.
Here as she walks us through a self-acceptance motivation, she reminds us that we must know our capabilities but also our limitations—love and accept both.
In this exercise, Angela shows a PLIÉ SQUAT WITH A HEEL LIFT, keeping the palms open while moving down into a squat, lifting the heels up and down. As you move she reminds you to accept and love who you are and breathe love into your exercise. The one-minute workout begins when the clock starts.
