How do you find purpose if you are not sure what it is? "You must spend time getting quiet," says Angela Davis, professional athlete and fitness coach. In her
21 Days of Motivation and Movement series, Angela offers the message of purpose for today. She offers a process to help get you to a place where you are brave and courageous enough to walk in purpose.
The definition of
purpose is the reason for which something is accomplished, created or exists. Here, she reminds us that we all have that reason to exist inside of us. We all already have what it takes on the inside to be all that we were created to be. What we need to do is find that burn in our belly. What are your gifts? What are your talents? What is your purpose?
For Angela, her purpose has always been to be a cheerleader, however that concept has evolved and grown over the course of her life, as purpose usually does. At a young age, she was a dancer, dancing in church because that was her gift. From there she channeled her energy into her other skills, like endurance and speed, eventually ranking in the 100-meter in track and field for the U.S. track-and-field team. Exploring her purpose is one of the many things that drove her to the finish line.
When Angela seized the opportunity to be a part of
Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend tour, her parents traveled to Houston to see her on stage, encouraging the audience with motivation and movement, in her own style, similar to what you see in this series. She remembers her parents affirming her purpose as an encourager, fueling her desire to continue on that path.
In this workout you will move with purpose with a FOREARM PLANK INTO DOLPHIN, keeping your core engaged while in plank and keeping your hips tight—every move being purposeful. The workout begins when the clock starts and will last for one minute.
