As a professional athlete in track and field, fitness evangelist and coach, Angela Davis, knows how to follow her intentions. It’s brought her through ranking titles in professional track and field and now puts her at the forefront of a fitness revolution with her 21 Days of Motivation and Movement series. Over the course of these 21 days her messages paired with movements will jumpstart your health and help bring your mind into a place where anything is possible.
The definition of intention is an idea that you plan to carry out. What are your dreams? What is your vision? Do you have your mind made up? As a competitor, Angela knows more than anyone that having your mind made up is crucial to winning your race, whatever that race may be.
"Make the vision, write it down, speak it," she says in her introduction to today’s workout. The vision is your intention.
Angela remembers the importance of having a concrete vision as it relates to her success in her professional past as an athlete. As a competitor in the 100-meter race she can remember looking down at the finish line and being able to visualize that race. She was able to visualize herself crossing that line and being victorious. Her vision, or her intention, helped bring her to her successes. She reminds all of us to “Be intentional about the change that we want to experience.” Understanding those intentions will help to close the gap between where we are and where we want to be.
In this workout, which begins when the clock starts, you will learn to do CIRCULAR ARMS WITH A SIDE SQUAT, making big circles with the arms as you move from side-to-side for one minute. As you move with intention, Angela talks you through layering in hope, faith and discipline to help push you toward your highest potential.
