Discipline: The Way You Do One Thing Is the Way You Do All Things

In order to get to the places where we want to go, we all have to go through some tough things to get there. In her 21 Days of Motivation and Movement, professional athlete and fitness coach Angela Davis reminds us that "Nobody is going to hand you your best life or your best body." You have to do the work and apply discipline.

From a young age, Angela dedicated her life to her elite athletic skills. As a little girl she enjoyed playing soccer, which took her on a 13-year journey of the sport, even placing her on a national level. Her commitment and discipline to her passion afforded her the opportunity to excel and achieve her goals. That same discipline is what helped her to land a spot on the U.S. track-and-field team as a five-time All-American who held rankings in the 100-meter race. Discipline got her to running professionally for Nike. Discipline helped her get to be a part of Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend. Now, it's your turn to move with discipline.

"You have to get uncomfortable," says Angela, "but don't allow that temporary discomfort to block you from a permanent blessing. There are blessings with your name on it." So how are you going to show up for this workout today? You are asked to be disciplined and to fight for your second wind. The change is waiting for you, so show up today and fight for it.

The workout you are presented with today is PLANK JACKS, requiring you to keep your shoulders, elbows and wrists in one line with your tailbone tucked. As you open and close your legs, keep your hips stabilized. If you need a modification, you can tap one foot at a time to each side.

Be disciplined in your mind so that you can receive the change you have been waiting for. When the clock starts, your one-minute workout begins.
