Why Should I Care?

Democrats are trying desperately to hold onto control of the Senate, and NH isn't helping.

Who Do I Need to Know?

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D, Incumbent): Was New Hampshire's governor and then became senator in '08. So yeah, she'll play the local card because she is one.

Scott Brown (R): Got famous after he scooped up the Massachusetts Senate seat in the 2010 election (that was Ted Kennedy's old seat). Yes, in Massachusetts. In his spare time, Brown does the Blue Steel.

What Are the Issues?

Obama: President Obama won New Hampshire in the 2012 election, but support for him there has seriously declined. Brown has called Shaheen Obama's "foot soldier" and he'll try to link her to Barry's agenda as much as possible.

Foreign Policy: In case you haven’t noticed, the international community's hit some major speed bumps recently. Hint: rhymes with crisis and gluten. ISIS and Putin have been causing trouble and Brown has been criticizing Shaheen's connection with Obama's foreign policy, saying she doesn't know how to lead at home or abroad.
