How do I subscribe to the Oprah iPad app?
You can purchase a subscription on a monthly or annual basis. The monthly subscription is $1.99 an issue and renews each month; the annual subscription is $19.99 and renews each year. To get started, visit the Apple App Store to download the app.

I am a print subscriber. Can I access the Oprah iPad app for free? Or can I convert my print subscription to the iPad?
Unfortunately, this is not possible right now, though it may be an option in the future.

Is this app different from the Zinio edition?
Yes. Zinio is a company that produces digital replicas of O, The Oprah Magazine and other magazines. The Zinio version of O does not contain any of the additional enhanced, exclusive, or interactive features that are in the iPad app. It is possible to subscribe to the Zinio version of the monthly issues, but that will not give you access to the iPad app issues.

How do I purchase and download an issue?
Select the issue that you would like to purchase from the Store screen within the app. Once the purchase request has been made, the Library screen will appear and the issue will begin downloading. Please note, the Oprah app does not support "downloading in the background." If you exit the Oprah app while a download is in progress and then return to the app, you will see "Tap to Download." Just tap this button and the issue will resume downloading from the point at which it was interrupted.

What happens if I queue multiple downloads, say five issues at once?
All of the requested issues will be visible in the Library. Please note, only one issue can download at a time, so you will see a "Waiting..." message on queued up issues.

The issues are taking a while to download. Is there any way I can speed this up?
Make sure you have a strong WiFi connection. The issues will not download over a 3G connection. If there are other devices currently on your WiFi connection, consider disabling them temporarily until the issues are downloaded. If possible, move your iPad closer to the router. This will ensure that the strongest possible connection is enabled. Check to see if there are any other downloads in progress on your iPad. If there are, wait until they have completed before downloading the issues.

I deleted an issue(s) by accident. How do I restore my magazines? If I delete an issue that has already been paid for, do I have to pay for it again in order to download it?
Any issues can be re-downloaded from the Store by pressing the "Download" icon under that specific issue and following the prompts. Even if a prompt asks you to buy the issue again, you will not be charged.

I paid for an issue, but it is not downloading. It is in the Library with a "Waiting..." status. How do I fix this?
This can be resolved by restarting your iPad. To do this, you must exit the app, then press and hold the "lock" button on the top right corner of the iPad until prompted with the option to power off the iPad. Power on the iPad, re-launch the Oprah app, and go to the Library. The problematic issue will have a status bar instructing you to "Tap to Download."

I still cannot get my issues to download properly. What else can I try?
Try deleting the app entirely and reinstalling it. Note: This will delete all of the issues you have downloaded, and you will need to re-download them. You will not be charged again for issues you have already paid for. To delete the app:
  • Tap and hold down the Oprah app icon on your home screen until it starts to shake.
  • Tap the black "X" in the top left corner, and then tap "Delete" in the notification box.
  • Return to the Apple App Store and reinstall the O, The Oprah Magazine app. If you have already purchased issues, you can tap the "Buy" button and re-install them for free. Tap the Download button to reinstall the December, January, February, March and April issues.
