These six easy steps that will immediately perk things up.

1. Create Some Bone Structure

Sculpt the contours of your face by sweeping foundation one or two shades darker than your skin tone (but no more than that) along the jawline, under the cheekbones, and across the top of your forehead. Be sure to blend well with a brush so that there are no demarcation lines.

2. Lift the Center of Your Face

Using concealer one shade lighter than your complexion, highlight your Cupid's bow, the creases around your nostrils, the strip down your nose, and the areas above your brow arches and between your brows. Then blend.

3. Brighten Your Undereye Area

Use that same concealer to draw a V under each eye, hitting the inner and outer corners and the tops of the cheekbones. Feather the insides of the V to blend the product.

4. Raise Your Brows

Pencil in your eyebrows one shade lighter than your haircolor if you are brunette and one shade darker if you are blonde, extending the tail slightly out, not down.

5. Get a Good Lashing

Brush mascara on your top lashes, being sure to get the smaller hairs in the inner corners. Avoid applying mascara on your bottom lashes since it can make the lower lid look droopy.

6. Accentuate Your Mouth

To visually raise the corners of your lips and give your chin a smoother appearance, trace a W across your chin with the lighter concealer, starting at one edge of your mouth and finishing on the opposite side. Blend into skin.

Helmet Head

Complement your handiwork with a layered hairstyle that frames your face, recommends Nunzio Saviano, owner of the Nunzio Saviano Salon in New York City. Layers create movement, which will give you a more youthful look.
