Breathing Space: November 2009

This photo was taken early one September morning in 2008. With camera in hand and me in slippers and my bathrobe, I walked out into the field in front of my house and started snapping. The dew glistened like diamonds on the overgrown field, turning something scraggy in the full daylight into a gem field in the sunrise. I love moments like this when I see the world as God created.

I took this photo one day on my walk. I even walk when it rains! The walk is so beautiful, it is irresistible! It grounds me and links me with source energy—God.

This picture was taken in Millennium Park in Chicago after being reunited with old friends. It made me think of how beautiful life can be when you break all the rules and sing to your own tune.

This is one of my favorite spots to hike in the fall. It is an old logging road in rural Nova Scotia.

On Thanksgiving in Canada, my son, daughter-in-love and I sat down to a wonderful meal. A brief sun shower passed and, in the vibrant, late afternoon autumn light, this rainbow graced our celebration!

Appreciate the beauty at hand and be thankful for the day that was given to you. Breathe and take time out of life because this may be your only day to marvel at the wonder of nature.

After walking more then a mile up this rough terrain, out of nowhere comes this small opening with a spectacular view of the world below.

I love to take photos. I discovered this right before I took this photo. I am not professional, but I was just amazed by the bright, golden leaves.

I often reflect on life's priorities in nature like this. The evening I took this, I was focused on the Forest E. Witcraft quote: "A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."

This beautiful doe grazing in a canola field near my home in Strathmore seemed to be calm and a little curious as she stood and watched me take her picture.

I took this photo during a visit to Starved Rock in October 2009. The shapes of the leaves seemed so unique, and I loved the soothing, earthy color combination of the leaves.
