Rev Run: Relationships Are Like Fine China

Season 1 Episode 107
CC
Tyrese and Rev Run continue the candid dialogue on commitment, answering audience questions about the relationship issues experienced by many couples.

One woman in the audience asks how much information a person should share with his or her mate? Tyrese has some "uncomfortable" advice on the subject. He explains why oversharing intimate details from your past in the early stages of a relationship isn't necessarily a wise move. "Stop talking so much, especially if you don't know how long this situation is going to last," he says. "You're going to have one more person running around with all your damn business."

Later, as the conversation turns to cheating, Tyrese and Rev Run offer their perspectives on whether relationships can survive after a person has cheated. Rev says that infidelity can cause lasting damage to a relationship. "You can always forgive; that doesn't mean you're going to ever forget," he says. "You might walk around with hurt. [A relationship is] almost like fine china: You can glue it back together, but it will never look the same."

Tyrese takes a different view, calling for couples to be patient and work through their problems if the relationship is worth saving. You'll want to hear his theory about your grandparents' marriage. Plus, find out why Tyrese says, "Not every married man that cheated in the beginning continues to cheat."
