Moving Forward Without Moving On After Losing a Soul Mate

Amanda Lindgren survived the horrific Aurora, Colorado, movie theater shooting in 2012. Her boyfriend, Alex Teves, heroically died saving her life that night. Amanda's family wants her to move back home to Arizona where she can get the help and support that she needs, but Amanda is torn about leaving the place where she and Alex fell in love.

"I'm still scared, nervous about it—just leaving Denver, leaving the life Alex and I had here together," Amanda says. "I'd be lying if I didn't say that's a battle every single day because I just miss him so much."

Filmmaker Jonas Elrod visits Amanda in Colorado and introduces her to spiritual advisor Catherine Yunt. "To me, the antidote for all of the trauma and the loss is love," Catherine tells her. "So when you tap into that and you stay tapped into that, that's the antidote for the fear and the doubt and the questions."
