This iced tea gets an herbaceous kick from kaffir lime leaves, mint, lemongrass, and lots of citrus.

Servings: Serves 8
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tea bags , preferably mild black tea or yerba maté
  • 2 kaffir lime leaves ; available at
  • 4 mint leaves , plus more for garnish (optional)
  • 1/4 stalk lemongrass , chopped
  • 1 thinly sliced lemon
  • 1 thinly sliced lime
  • 1 thinly sliced orange
  • Directions
    Add sugar to a pot with 2 quarts of water; bring to a boil, then turn off heat. Add tea bags, kaffir lime leaves, mint leaves, and lemongrass. Let infuse for 1 hour, then strain. Stir in sliced citrus, cool completely, and serve over ice garnished with mint.
