Makes about 4 cups


Using a large knife, cut off top and bottom of a whole ripe cantaloupe. Stand melon on a flat surface and cut off outer rind, taking care to remove as little fruit as possible. Cut cantaloupe in half and discard seeds. Roughly chop melon into small pieces and place in a blender with 1 cup water. Blend on the highest speed, gradually adding more water until consistency is juicelike. Add sweetener of your choice to taste. Refrigerate and serve straight or over ice.
