CHI Touch Dryer
What it is: A blow-dryer with a built-in 3-inch color LCD touch screen.

How it works: Use the touch menu to program speed and temperature; you can even specify your hair type for a customized blow-out.

Why it's worth the price: The dryer is extremely easy to use, lightweight, and powerful. The 1,800-watt motor is unusually quiet and produces strong airflow to dry hair quickly.

InStyler Wet to Dry Styler

InStyler Wet to Dry Styler
What it is: A rotating hot barrel and brush combo that dries, straightens, and curls hair.

How it works: Skip the hair dryer and instead clamp a 2-inch section of towel-dried hair (as close to the roots as possible) between the brush and the barrel (with the brush side on top). Slowly slide the styler to the ends of your hair; the barrel will rotate until you release the clamp. To get straight hair, repeat on the same section until your hair is dry. To curl, wrap hair around the barrel, clamp down, and release after a few seconds. Repeat the process in two-inch sections through the rest of your hair.

Why we love it: This tool does the work of a blow-dryer, a flatiron, and a curling iron.

Coolway Low Heat Autosense Styler

Coolway Low Heat Autosense Styler
What it is:A flatiron that heats up to 299 degrees. (The highest temperature on most flatirons is a scorching 450 degrees.)

How it works: After shampooing, mist the Coolway Transform Spray (included) all over damp hair. Silk proteins, castor seed oil, and red algae extract in the spray help hair absorb water (important because the more moisture in hair, the less damage heat can cause). Blow-dry your hair as usual. To get the iron to set at the lowest effective temperature (based on the moisture left in your hair), pass it over a 2-inch section three times. Now you can straighten the rest of your hair as you would with any flatiron.

Why it's worth the price: The ceramic plates and low-heat technology of this tool straighten hair without damage.

Bed Head Tigi Wave Artist Deep Waver

Bed Head Tigi Wave Artist Deep Waver
What it is: A crimper that creates waves.

How it works: Starting at the roots, clamp 2-inch sections of hair between the barrels and hold in place about five seconds; repeat the process through the length of your hair to the ends.

Why we love it: Creating loose waves with a curling iron is complicated and time-consuming—you need to curl first and then loosen the curls to get waves. This crimper gives your hair natural-looking texture quickly.
