6 Steps to a Smoky Eye

Step 1: "The secret is blending," says celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal. She starts with a neutral eyeshadow base to make the makeup last.

Step 2: Over that, she applies a shimmery bone shadow to add light to the eyes.

Step 3: She brushes on a lavender shadow most intensely at the lashline, then blends it toward the browbone.

Step 4: Using a liner brush, Mally lines the eyes with plum shadow.

Step 5: She goes over that with a black eyeliner pencil to add drama to the eyes.

Step 6: Two coats of black mascara on both upper and lower lashes finishes the look.
