Aired on 11/12/2016 | CC
As co-hosts of the uplifting docuseries The Hero Effect, Donald Driver and Emily Wilson travel across the country spotlighting those whose ingenuity and passion to help others demonstrate the power of the human spirit. In this episode, Donald speaks with Sonny Crouse, U.S. Army veteran and vice chair of the Mission United Advisory Council, about his own journey from vet to everyday hero.

After he returned from serving four tours of duty, Sonny struggled to adjust to life back home. He battled PTSD and tried to cope by drinking heavily—that is, until a friend gave him the wake-up call he needed.

Here, Sonny opens up about how his friend's words led him to do the extraordinary work he does today: helping fellow vets transition from military to civilian life.

Tune in to two 30-minute episodes of The Hero Effect airing monthly on Saturdays at 10 a.m. ET/PT.
