Paris Culinary Extravaganza: Scenes from Hôtel Le Meurice
This contest is now closed.
The recently renovated Bar 228 is a popular meeting place for Parisians. The bar offers 17 exclusive cocktails, which you can enjoy while admiring the three restored Lavalley paintings on the walls.
Restaurant Le Meurice was refurbished in 2007 by Phillip Starck, who was inspired by the Salon de la Paix at the Chateau de Versailles. The winner's package includes a lunch off Chef Yannick Alléno's new Terroir Parisien menu created from exceptional local products.
You'll spend two nights in a suite, recently redesigned by acclaimed designer Charles Jouffre.
Surrealist painter Salvador Dali checked in to the hotel for at least one month each year throughout the '40s, '50s and '60s. Now Restaurant le Dali (designed by Phillipe Starck) is filled with Daliesque décor, such as a chair with feet in the form of a woman's shoe, a lamp with drawers, and a telephone with attached lobster. Starck's daughter Ara painted the mural that hangs on the ceiling.
Le Meurice is located opposite the beautiful Tuileries Gardens, designed in 1664 by Versailles park designer, Andre Le Nôtre.
