Paris Culinary Extravaganza Sweepstakes: Scenes from Hôtel Plaza Athénée
This contest is now closed.
The hotel is located on the Avenue Montaigne, where Christian Dior first set up his couture salon just to be near this hotel. Other designers followed suit, and now neighbors include Valentino, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and others.
After indulging in a private sampling of the latest creations of the hotel's "Champions of Pastries," you can relax in the garden courtyard, or "La Cour Jardin."
In addition to their breathtaking views, the guest rooms also offer a unique pillow menu, where you're given a choice of wheat, de-stressing, beautifying, horse hair, osteopathic or synthetic pillows.
Red roses match the lampshades in the lobby of the hotel, which has hosted guests ranging from the Rockefellers to the Kennedys.
Chestnut trees line the avenue in front of the hotel, with its signature red awnings and geraniums. The hotel has views of the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre and is walking distance to the Champs-Elysées and the Theâtre des Champs-Elysées.
Each morning, you'll be treated to an American breakfast and Champagne. Each room has views of either the tree-lined Avenue Montaigne, the rooftops of Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower, or La Cour Jardin.
In the three-Michelin-star restaurant Alain Ducasse, designer Patrick Jouin channeled the fine dining style of Louis XV, with 10,000 illuminated crystal pendants dangling. The chef will prepare an authentic French meal for the winner and guest in the private dining room.
