Tea

A Special Cup of Tea
To transform an ordinary cup of tea into a special treat, Oprah adds mulling spices (a mix of cinnamon, allspice and cloves) and lemon and orange slices. And she always drinks the tea from a beautiful cup. "I make it into a ritual," she explains. "I [used to be] one of those people—like so many of you who are mothers and nurturers—I could give anything to everybody else, but when it came time to do it for myself … I felt like I wasn't worth the trouble. … I [now] realize that I really am worth the trouble—just as you are—and so I make it beautiful for myself."

Oprah uses this tea as part of her evening ritual in order to avoid snacking after her strict 7:30 p.m. eating cut-off time. Just be sure to use caffeine free herbal tea!
Oprah's afternoon snack

Afternoon Snack
Every day between 3:30 and 4 p.m., Oprah knows she will be ravenous. What simple snack gets her through these cravings? She has a cup of green tea, a handful of almonds and slices of apple and Parmesan cheese. "Usually people are looking for some kind of texture with their snacks," Bob Greene explains. "[The nuts and apple] add the crunch."
Oprah's chocolate treat

Oprah's Chocolate Treat
Oprah has discovered a no-fat, no-sugar fudgesicle that satisfies her chocolate cravings. "I feel like I'm indulging myself," she says, "but it's, like, 45 calories!"
Crunchy sundae

Crunchy Sundae
"Have you ever done this?" Oprah asks. "Just standing with the cabinet open, looking up and down trying to find something? And you know there ain't nothing in there that wasn't there 12 minutes ago!"

Oprah handles this problem by making a crunchy sundae—she grabs a handful of Grape-Nuts® cereal and a handful of Spoon Size® Shredded Wheat. … "And then I use 2 percent milk," she says. "Skim would be even better but I don't like it. Then a few blueberries on top—and that is delicious!"
Gelatin Cobbler

Gelatin Cobbler
Oprah is convinced that this healthy gelatin cobbler snack is as good as a sundae. First, prepare the "cobbler" with unsweetened flavored gelatin, using Diet Sprite®, Diet 7-Up® or Fresca® instead of water. Add strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Then garnish with a squirt of whipped cream. Top with crushed walnuts or almonds and enjoy!
