Waldorf Salad Recipe

Serves 4
This salad was invented in the late 1800s at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City.
Ingredients
4 large Granny Smith apples, diced
4 stalks celery, halved lengthwise and chopped
1 carrot, grated
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
4 Tbsp. raisins (optional)
Directions
In a bowl, combine the apples, celery, carrot, mayonnaise and lemon juice and stir well to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Fold in the walnuts and raisins (if using).
