Makes 1 loaf

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 medium-size bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup Nutella

    Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl.

Using a mixer, cream butter and sugar in a large bowl. Add 2 eggs and beat well. Stir in mashed banana, then stir in dry ingredients just until mixed.

Pour about half of the batter back into the medium bowl that you used for the dry ingredients and stir in the Nutella. Drop alternating cups of the 2 batters into the loaf pan (it can be haphazard). When all of the batter has been added to the pan, gently spin a knife through it, to create swirls.

Smooth the top and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes in the pan, then remove the bread to a wire rack to cool completely.
