When you saw the commercials for Hot Tub Time Machine, you may have thought, "Raunchy, crude, not for me." But don't be fooled. Underneath all the bawdy humor is a smart and sweet film about friendship and dreams deferred. As if that's not enough, it's a classic '80s throwback—complete with 1980s heartthrob John Cusack. When three old friends (Cusack, Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson) decide to revel in nostalgia and take a trip to a mountain resort where they spent some of their good old days, a drunken mishap in—you guessed it—a hot tub time machine sends them reeling back to 1986, a critical year in each of their lives. Perhaps you can guess what comes next—different decisions determine changed fates for each of their future selves—but watching it unfold is a hilarious delight. Rob Corddry says women will love curling up on the couch with the DVD (out June 28) because at its core is a story everyone can relate to. "Any good buddy movie is structured the same way a romance is," he says. "It's really about a love affair between, in this case, three characters. The same things have to happen—they have to fall in love all over again, which we do."

Not that Rob himself would opt for a redo of 1986. "I was just coming out of puberty, most likely writing in my journal. It was a little rough for me," he says. "If I were to go back, I would just give myself a giant, warm hug and tell myself it was going to be okay." Life certainly has been okay for Rob, who made a name for himself as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. These days, he's created and is starring in Children's Hospital, a Web series that's been picked up by Adult Swim . The original Web series, a parody of medical dramas like ER and Grey's Anatomy, will have it's Adult Swim premiere on July 11, followed by all-new Season 2 episodes beginning in August. "The second season is just a funnier, prettier continuation of the Web series," he promises. If Rob will be doubling as McDreamy, perhaps circa 1986 again, sign us up.
