Why Micky Dolenz Doesn't Monkey Around About Architecture

Season 4 Episode 408
Aired on 11/09/2014 | CC tv-14
Actor Micky Dolenz says that after a brief stint as the 10-year-old star of a 1950s TV series called Circus Boy, his parents took him out of show business and enrolled him in regular school. "[That was] a very wise thing to do at the time," he says.

When Micky got older, he decided to get serious about a career, and he set out to become an architect. Then, as fate would have it, the role of a lifetime came his way. "I was in architectural drafting school when The Monkees audition came along," he says. "When I got the part, I didn't even quit school because I knew that pilots usually don't sell."

Watch as Micky talks about his decision to put his studies on hold.
