Meagan Good on How God Told Her that DeVon Franklin Was "the One"

When they first started dating in 2011, DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good seemed an unlikely match. She was the beautiful actress who was often photographed on the celebrity party scene. He was the straitlaced studio executive and ordained minister, committed to making movies with an inspirational message. DeVon had also been practicing celibacy for nearly a decade.

Before the couple started dating, Meagan says, she was at something of a crossroads in her life, having just come out of a failed four-year relationship. "After a while, I started to act out and started to be kind of, just like, self-destructive," she says, "where you're acting up because you're frustrated and you're upset, and you believe that you're, you know, not getting what you're putting into the relationship."

However, Meagan says that when she reconnected professionally with DeVon during the filming of Jumping the Broom, she had a vision that she was going to marry him. In fact, Meagan says that she was praying when she heard God tell her, "DeVon is your husband." Even though the two had not even started their courtship, she began speaking of her vision to those around her. "I started telling friends and family that he was my husband," she says.
