The Irreplaceable Gift Jeff Bridges' Mom Gave Him

Before Jeff Bridges was even born, his family’s life was touched by tragedy. His parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Bridges, lost their child Gary to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. "That was sort of the mood I was brought into," Jeff says. "My parents were going through that terrible tragedy, so it was kind of frightening for them to invest that much love again. But my mom was up for it."

This was just the first of many "remarkable" things Jeff's mom did over the years. For example, when each of her children turned 21, she gave them a biography of their life, which she pulled from her own journals.
