Jeff Bridges always wanted to be a musician. However, when he was young and his career as an actor was taking off, his dad—legendary actor Lloyd Bridges—advised him to stick with acting.

"He said, 'Jeff, don’t be ridiculous. What's so wonderful about acting is you can incorporate all of your interests into that profession, so you’ll have a chance to play a musician somewhere down the line.'"

Jeff was happy he took his dad’s advice, but he says "the whole music thing never went away. It just went on the backburner for a while." That all changed when Jeff was given the script for Crazy Heart.

Find out why Jeff initially turned down his Oscar®-winning role. Plus, learn how it gave him the music career he always wanted.
