Our favorite mail-order option, New York's famous Murray's Cheese can overnight the renowned Lioni family's hand-pulled mozzarella anywhere in the United States. $8 per pound;

The namesake cheese at the Dallas-based Mozzarella Company is hand-formed into half-pound balls, smaller bocconcini balls, and rolls flavored with prosciutto, sun-dried tomato, or basil pesto. $15 per pound;

  • Sign up for one of the monthly two-hour Hands-On Mozzarella courses at the Artisanal Premium Cheese Center in New York City, or at satellite programs in Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, and other locations. $125;
