Makeup Sets
Suits and sunnies in lipstick shades are in the hot seat this season. Rule of thumb: Orangy reds look better on those with warm undertones (i.e., gold jewelry complements you); blue-reds flatter cooler undertones (silver jewelry is your jam).

Graphic Design
Is there anything more sophisticated than black-and-white? I'm just crazy about these suits—and you might as well go for a full-on coordinated (but not matchy-matchy) look with slides and a great face-protecting hat.

Green Party
Aqua-greens are a huge trend in swimsuits this year: From seafoam to jade to forest, there's a different shade for every outing. Here are my favorites, along with matching nail polishes to complete the look.

Mommy and Me
Known for her gorgeous prints, designer Mara Hoffman is collaborating with J.Crew on a children's collection, Mara Hoffman for Crewcuts. The little ones' line, inspired by Indian mythology, matches pieces in Hoffman's adult swimwear collection. Love!

Borrowed from the Boys
Who wears short shorts? Men's swimsuit designers Orlebar Brown and Vilebrequin hope you do! Known for preppy-with-a-twist looks, they're now offering women's swimwear and beachwear. I particularly love these bikini tops and shorts, which offer thigh coverage without sacrificing style.

Couture Camouflage
A recent import from Brazil, these suits are handmade using a luxurious fabric that mimics jersey and a draping technique usually seen on high-end dresses. Yes, they're pricey, but you get a gorgeous swimsuit with extra-slimming ruching that can double as a bodysuit.
