The Softer Side of General Hospital Star Maurice Benard

In 2004, soap opera star Maurice Benard and his wife, Paula, opened up on The Oprah Winfrey Show about the private hell they lived in for years. Maurice revealed that he was living with bipolar disorder, which, at its worst, made him violent and suicidal.

Now, almost 10 years after that interview, Maurice invites cameras backstage on the General Hospital set and introduces his loving family.

Maurice may have won an Emmy, but his daughter Cailey says he's just like any other dad. "I feel like you can talk to him about stuff that you couldn't talk to anyone else about because he's been through a lot more than most people have," she says.
