Mama June on Finding "Peace" After Reality TV

Mama June Shannon and her daughter Alana Thompson (better known as her persona "Honey Boo Boo") left the limelight just as quickly as they entered it. The duo became famous as contestants on the TLC reality TV show Toddlers & Tiaras, which followed families who put their children in beauty pageants. Soon, the McIntyre, Georgia clan got their own hit show on the network, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which surpassed Toddlers in popularity. It was suddenly and unexpectedly canceled in 2014, when reports surfaced that Mama June had allegedly dated a registered sex offender.

Since then, Mama June left their reality TV home in McIntyre and bought a house in her hometown of Hampton, Georgia. Mama June says she prefers the "calm" of their lives today, where she is able to find some peace away from the drama. Here, she opens up about this new chapter in her life.
