George Takei's Love Story

Twenty-seven years ago, Star Trek actor George Takei was in a gay running club in Los Angeles and noticed the best runner in the club, a man named Brad Altman. "I went up to him and asked him to train me for my first marathon," he says. "And before long, we became partners."

The couple kept their relationship a secret until George came out publicly in 2005. Their journey together is chronicled in a new documentary, To Be Takei. "Notice every time George says something serious about our relationship, he always laughs immediately after," Brad says.

In the video above, George and Brad open up about their relationship and reveal which two Star Trek stars stood up with them for their September 2008 wedding.
