Finola Hughes on Her Soap Opera Alter Ego

For almost three decades, Emmy-winning actress Finola Hughes has portrayed Anna Devane on General Hospital. Finola may have legions of devoted fans, but her husband, Russell, admits he's never seen a single episode of this long-running daytime soap opera.

Over the years, Finola says, a lot of strange things have happened to her character, including coming back from the dead. "I've had amnesia at some point, plus I've blown up," she says. "That's just par for the course of being on any soap opera."
