Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, Together Again

If you grew up watching television in the '80s and '90s, you remember the groundbreaking hit sitcom A Different World. Every week, millions tuned in to see Dwayne Wayne, played by Kadeem Hardison, trying to win the affection of stuck-up Southern belle Whitley Gilbert, portrayed by Jasmine Guy.

Now, more than 20 years after the final episode of A Different World aired, Oprah reunites this memorable TV couple. Decades have passed, but Kadeem and Jasmine still remember how it felt to have fame so quickly thrust upon them.

"The first season, the show was about Lisa Bonet, and I was grateful because I saw the kind of fame hell that she was always in, with paparazzi and people in the trees," Jasmine says. "So, I always felt like, 'Oh, I like the work part, but I don't know if I like that part of it.' ... I had to grow into accepting it."
