Sheryl Lee Ralph may best be known for her Tony-nominated performance in Dreamgirls, 25 years before it landed in movie theaters. As the lead singer of the 1981 production that received rave reviews and 13 Tony nominations, Sheryl says the musical's success was completely unexpected.

However, the actress, who graduated from Rutgers University at 19, has been appearing in movies and television for her entire career. Also, in 2005, she made news again when she married a Pennsylvania state senator in a lavish ceremony.
