The Powerful Lesson Oprah Taught This Superfan

In 2010, Oprah took her show to Australia. Viewers Down Under were thrilled that they would finally get a chance to see a taping of The Oprah Show—perhaps none more so than superfan Catherine. There was just one snag: Catherine was nine months pregnant, and the taping was scheduled the day before her Cesarean section.

That's when Oprah and Catherine's family teamed up to bring the show to the expectant mother in the form of a surprise baby shower! Catherine was blown away to find Oprah in her hometown, and, five years later, she says she's still grateful for that experience.

"Initially, I was on a really big high—I was on an Oprah high—and everything to do with Oprah, and all the interviews that I did afterwards, and getting the chance to come over to Chicago and see the show. It was just such a whirlwind of happiness and excitement that it took a long time to come down from that," Catherine says.
