As a junior in high school, Big Sean went down to his local radio station every week to participate in the "Friday Night Cypher." Big Sean did this every week for a year and took time to perfect his craft. One day, Big Sean caught wind that Kanye West would be coming to the radio station. Big Sean met Kanye and asked if he could rap for him, and the two eventually exchanged contact information.
