Anthony Ray Hinton's memoir,
The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row, is the latest selection for Oprah's Book Club. It's a gripping story of how he served 30 years on death row for crimes he did not commit. Somehow, Anthony found a way to hold on to hope, remain positive and inspire his fellow inmates.
One such inmate was Henry Hays, a member of the Ku Klux Klan, who had beaten a black teenage boy to death. Here, Anthony reveals what death row taught Henry about racism—and how it is critically important to "teach people to love."
