When she's not on tour or preparing for an album, Faith Hill doesn't stray far from home—especially during the holidays. The five-time Grammy winner says she holds the holidays close to her heart and, along with her husband, Tim McGraw, strives to create for their three daughters the same kind of Christmas traditions she grew up with. Oprah.com talks with Faith about Christmas in her home.

Question: What is one of your happiest holiday memories?
Faith Hill: Our first Christmas as a family. Our oldest daughter, Gracie, was 7 months old on her first Christmas. It was one of the most memorable times of my life.

Q: What is one of your most unexpectedly funny holiday memories?
FH: Waking up in the middle of the night to put reindeer food outside—a combination of oats and glitter. Tim and I were trying so hard to build traditions for our girls, but we spread ourselves a bit thin the first few years when the girls were old enough to remember Christmas morning. We've learned a lot since then!

Q: Do you remember when and perhaps how you found out about Santa?
FH: I don't remember the exact time, but probably 11 or so.

Q: What type of holiday music did you grow up listening to?
FH: Anything Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving, we put up our tree and decorated the house. From that moment until the day after Christmas, it was full-on holiday spirit and a lot of music!

Q: Most unexpected place you've ever spent Christmas?
FH: I've yet to drift far from home during Christmas. It's my favorite holiday, so lots of crafting and baking goes on at our house.

Favorite holiday cookie: Divinity.
Favorite holiday ornament: Anything that the girls have made.
Favorite holiday song: "Little Drummer Boy."
Best gift you've received: Bringing [our daughter] Audrey home from the hospital before Christmas. She was eight weeks early, and originally we didn't expect to bring her home until after Christmas.
