Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup

Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup
This recipe for Butternut Squash and Sweet Potato Soup is a creation from my early days as a chef. It is the most easy-to-make soup I have ever created. I use the soup as a staple at holiday meals, as a comfort food and as a crowd pleaser at home.

Corn Pudding with Crunchy Crumb Topping

Corn Pudding with Crunchy Crumb Topping
The crunchy crumb topping of this corn pudding not only adds a visual appeal at the holiday table, but it also provides an otherwise simple, yet tasty, corn pudding with an element of texture. While the palate easily recognizes the garlic flavor in this topping, the subtleness of the orange zest adds a hint of surprise. This is a dish that I am asked to bring every year for the holiday dinner, and one that everyone seems to look forward to—children and adults alike!

Pumpkin Roll

Pumpkin Roll
I started making Pumpkin Rolls about 15 years ago, and everyone loves them. I usually make between 15 to 20 throughout the holidays to take to parties and dinners and give as gifts. I usually make four to five [rolls] at a time and freeze them until I need one. Yummy!

Swedish Glogg

Swedish Glögg
My dad's wife would make this every Christmas Eve for her three grown sons and their spouses and families and my dad's three kids along with their spouses and families. We would arrive and be handed a mug of this [drink]. When the pan was empty, we would sit down to eat Christmas Eve dinner. She never made more. We were never late! We all loved it and would hurry through the first mug to secure the second mug.

Sweet Potato Casserole

Sweet Potato Casserole
This is a holiday dish that I've grown up with. Every time it is prepared and we have new friends or family over to eat, they love it almost as much as dessert. Sometimes it is eaten for dessert. The topping is phenomenal!

Almond Frosted Cookies

Almond Frosted Cookies
These are almond-flavored, white, cake-like cookies chunked full of sliced almonds and frosted with an almond, buttercream frosting. They are a bit more work than a traditional cookie, but very yummy! I frost them red, green and white for the holidays.

Swedish Apple Pie

Swedish Apple Pie
This is the best, and I might say the easiest apple pie you will ever have tasted. My family prefers this over an apple pie in a pie crust. You have to taste it to believe how wonderful it is. Please give it a try; it could become one of your holiday favorites—I know it is ours!
