Stress is everywhere around us. Work woes…financial losses…in-laws. But the problem isn't so much the stressors themselves—it's how we respond to stress that can have negative consequences.
Dr. Oz and psychologist Dr. Erin Olivo suggest simple ways to relieve anxiety and improve your overall health.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation While sitting or lying down in a relaxed position, tense the muscles of your feet as much as you can and then release the tension and pay attention to the sensation of relaxation in that muscle group. Tense and relax different muscle groups of your body one at a time. Focus on your legs, stomach, back, neck, arms, face and head.
Once you have finished tensing and relaxing all the regions of your body, allow yourself to remain in a state of relaxation for a few minutes.
