The Lesson That Pastor John Gray Took the Longest to Learn

Pastor John Gray tells Oprah in their Super Soul Sunday conversation that he has a commitment to let people know about God's unconditional love for them. It's a lesson that took him a long time to learn.

"My brokenness was not a deterrent to God's purpose," he says. "I always thought I had to please God. I was a behavior-based, you know, servant. I thought I had to behave in a certain way. But behavior is not what he was looking for; my being is what he was looking for."

Here, John reveals how he came to understand that God loves your true self and that love is not diminished if you fail.
