JonBenet's Unsolved Murder

It's been almost 12 years since JonBenet Ramsey's murder broke millions of hearts and cast a cloud of suspicion over her parents, John and Patsy.

On December 26, 1996, John discovered his 6-year-old daughter's lifeless body in the basement of their Boulder, Colorado, home. JonBenet had been sexually assaulted, strangled and bludgeoned to death. As news of the horrific crime spread, detectives began questioning John and Patsy as prime suspects.

Though they were never formally charged by authorities, JonBenet's father says fictitious news stories and sensationalized tabloid headlines fueled suspicions. "We've been tried, convicted and, probably in some people's minds, executed in the public court," John said in a previous interview.
