Oprah's Book Club author Anthony Ray Hinton endured almost three decades in prison, wrongfully convicted of the brutal murders of two fast food workers in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1985. He was finally exonerated with the help of civil rights attorney Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative in 2015. Here, Anthony describes what it felt like—after spending 30 years in prison awaiting execution—to finally walk away a free man and feel the rain on his face.
