Don't Judge Me, Help Me
![]() When you see someone who is struggling or overwhelmed, do you lend a helping hand? Or do you stand by and judge them and their situation? Perhaps you've witnessed a desperate mother trying to rein in her unruly toddlers during a solemn church service, or an elderly person having difficulty carrying his or her groceries from the supermarket.
The next time you're in a situation where you can offer some assistance, why not do it? Instead of standing idly by and judging someone, decide that you're going to help them, Dr. Robin says. "Instead of judging me, decide you're going to help me," she says. "Instead of my judging you, I want to make the decision today that I want to be your helper, not your judge and jury."
