A clean, streamlined wardrobe means that getting ready in the mornings will be a lot easier. Instead of searching through piles of shoddy sweaters for your all-time favorite top, it will be neatly hanging in your closet ready to be matched up with one of your three pairs of incredible, derriere-enhancing pants.

Don't Buy the Dress (or Top or Pair of Shoes)...

1. If it would look great if it was tailored but you've never taken anything to the tailor, ever.

2. If it doesn't look good from every angle.

3. If you want it only because it's inexpensive or because it's on super-mega sale.

4. If you're texting pictures to your friends from the dressing room because you can't decide how you feel about it. (That's a major red flag, by the way. I'll be willing to bet that you're trying to convince yourself that you like the item even though you know deep down that you don't really dig it.)

5. If you're sure you'll be able to figure out what to wear the item with but you can't quickly come up with an idea of how to do so.

6. If you don't love it enough to throw out one of your current pieces in exchange.

7. If you're buying it because you like the idea of it more than the reality of it. (Buying on theory gets expensive!)

8. If you're buying it for a future event that you're not sure will ever happen.

9. If you don't feel compelled to wear it out of the store right that minute or to work the very next morning.

10. If you have to learn a skill to make the piece work (like how to walk in wobbly five-inch heels).

11. Just because you feel obligated to make a purchase.
