Love the idea of meditation, but have trouble squeezing it into your day? So do we. That's why we launched this new series to help us all find time to practice techniques that research suggests can make us calmer, happier, thinner, less addicted to bad stuff, and more focused. You don't need a prayer mat or dark room—just your computer.
There's no need to choose between your meditation and your workout: Tibetan lama and marathon runner Sakyong Mipham shows us how to do both at the same time. The Sakyong, who is also the leader of Shambhala, a global community of meditation and retreat centers, believes that athleticism and mental flexibility go hand-in-hand (of course; the whole healthy-mind-healthy-body thing). You can listen to this meditation before heading out for a run or walk to prepare for your journey, or you can take it with you on the road.
