"It takes at least a pound of vegetables to make a glass of juice," says Lauren Slayton, a registered dietitian in New York City. "So drinking juice is a very efficient way to consume more fruits and vegetables." Most of the bottled versions here contain both fruit and vegetable juices in varying proportions. Remember that fruit-heavy blends are packed with sugar and calories, so keep portions reasonable—say, a glass a day—and make sure to include whole fruits and vegetables in your diet as well.
