Shine Like the Stars
The red carpet is rolling out—don't let the stars have all the fun at the award shows. Get your hair color ready for your next big event!

Red Carpet Color
  • The best time to color your hair is right before, or even the same day as the awards. This helps the hair to be vibrant and shiny. One very important tip if you decide to color your hair on the same day…make sure you trust the colorist!
  • To get "camera ready" color, contrast is very important. You want to make the color a little more dramatic in contrast for a big show. You want to be able to see the highlights and dimension in photos or television. Be careful that you do not get too stripy. A way to avoid the zebra look is to do tones in the same color family as your all over color. This will look natural instead of "skunky."
  • Conditioning treatments are great to start a week to two weeks before the award show. Put a deep conditioning mask on your hair for half an hour or even longer if you have time! *To achieve an award-winning look at home, less is more. If you are going to color your hair, pick a color that you can visualize in a beautiful, sexy way. I suggest chocolate, caramel, golden toffee, and chestnut colors for the base. Then dry and style your hair and add a few highlights. Do the highlights a bit bolder than normal—this will make your color pop. After the color, do a conditioning treatment—your hair will be shiny and ready for the red carpet!
