The Trends: Anorak, Wide-Legged Pants, Tweed, Patent Leather
Getting back to work is tough enough; you may as well be comfortable in a sporty, silky blush pink anorak (Moschino) that can acquire enough polish for the office if worn over a Henley tee (Gap, $25) and wide-legged pants in herringbone tweed (Diane von Furstenberg, $298). Doses of patent leather, like ankle boots (Zamara by Modern Vintage, $295) and a structured bag (Yves Saint Laurent), will put a gleam in your eye—even on blue Monday.

The Trends: Full Skirt, Tweed, Purple, Patent Leather
As the week gets packed with meetings, it's nice to have a double-breasted jacket and full skirt (Sportmax, $1,335 and $455) that say you mean business. This gorgeously textured tweed is flecked with colors you can play up with accessories—like an olive and purple clutch (Devi Kroell, $790). The jersey turtleneck (MiFresia for Rousso Apparel, $68) and suede pumps with a touch of patent leather (Lulu Guinness, $335) echo the suit's beigy shades.

The Trends: Dress, Chunky Knit, Boots
If you work in a bank, a satin dress (Vince, $290) won't pass muster even if it's played down with a chunky knit cardigan (K.A.7 by Katayone Adeli, $310). But in a less formal office, it's fun. Notice how the longer sleeves are chicly pulled out under the shorter ones, and the way the swashbuckling boots (Nine West, $189) give the outfit a daytime vibe. (If you're going out later, lose the cardigan and switch to opaque hose and pumps.)

The Trends: Purple, Anorak, Jersey, Wide-Legged Pants, Patent Leather
Update your basics without an upheaval by adding modish color. A purple trench-style anorak (Nine West, $159) and cloche hat (Nine West, $42) look stunning with a jersey diamond-print top (Banana Republic, $38) and coppery wide-legged pants (Sportmax, $455). Three-tone patent leather lace-up oxfords break with tradition (Moschino Cheap and Chic, $460); a luxurious python clutch (Nancy Gonzalez) holds a lot more than you'd think.

The Trends: Purple, Full Skirt, Patent Leather
The weekend is imminent. To celebrate, put on a purple top (Alberta Ferretti, $535) with elbow-length pouf sleeves (a charming trend). Wear it under a jacket all day; show it off for dinner out. The slim fit is balanced by a satiny full skirt (Moschino, $995) whose A-line shape flatters the hips and is highly compatible with flats. A perforated pair in patent leather (Miss Bisou for JCPenney, $45) is a match for the patent leather belt (A.n.a by JCPenney, $28).

We all love to dress up for a weekend night out, but it's hard to hit the right note of fanciness. One happy strategy is to mix casual with opulent. A glamorous tiered full skirt (Kenzo, $968) is nudged toward the informal by a chunky knit top (Kenzo, $406), a bag that combines patent leather with herringbone tweed (Gap, $40), and riding boots (Etienne Aigner, $159). A marigold jersey tee (Rebecca Beeson, $95) picks up the skirt's colors and ties things together.

The Trends: Wide-Legged Pants, Tweed, Patent Leather, Purple
A fresh take on khakis is the perfect laid-back uniform—though these wide-legged pants (Express, $88) could also handle weekdays. Take advantage of fashion's enthusiasm for tweed with a cropped blazer (Tevrow + Chase, $465) and patent leather and tweed flats (Chanel, $630). A purple scoop-neck tee (Liz Claiborne, $35) and scarf (Colombo, $390) give this getup a fine, winey glow; a patent leather bag (MZ Wallace, $425) supplies extra shine.
