Get Shinier Hair Using An At-Home Dye

Step 1
Pin up the top layer of hair (the highlights should be concentrated on the underlayer for foolproof results on long hair). Mix the bleach in a bowl; place a two-inch section of hair on a spatula, and, starting three inches from the roots, use a brush to pull the bleach along the hair shaft. Highlight about four sections on each side. Leave the bleach on for 30 minutes or so (depending on the strand test); rinse and towel-dry.
