Everyone can benefit from a well-applied concealer. Expert makeup artist Matin Maulawizada shares his secrets for covering up.

From left to right:

All six shades of Revlon PhotoReady Concealer ($11; drugstores) contain light-reflecting particles to mask dark circles and SPF 20 to protect skin from UV damage.
Matin Says:
For foolproof application, always use a concealer brush (even if the concealer comes in a stick or wand). Start at the inner corner of your eyes, applying only on dark areas.

Mix and match the colors in the E.L.F. Studio Complete Coverage Concealer quads ($3; eyeslipsface.com) to create a shade that blends perfectly with your complexion.
Matin Says:
Creamy concealers that come in palettes and pots give you the most coverage.

For an easy way to find the right shade, try Maybelline New York FitME! concealers ($6.50; drugstores). The collection is organized by skin tone and features corresponding foundation, blush, powder, bronzer, and concealer shades.
Matin Says:
If you need to even out skin tone, apply foundation all over your face, but skip the area around your eyes. Most foundation won't cover dark circles.

If you like multitaskers, you'll love Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lift and Firm Concealer ($20; elizabetharden.com). Ceramides in the formula retain moisture to plump skin, while vitamins A, C, and E block environmental damage.
Matin Says:
A light formula (like this one) tends to fade quickly, so apply a bit of translucent powder under your eyes after the concealer.

Try Clinique Redness Solutions Targeted Corrector ($20; clinique.com) if your skin is very sensitive or if allergy season makes the area around your eyes puffy, itchy, and pink. The formula contains caffeine to soothe redness and irritation.
Matin Says:
A yellow-based concealer covers red undertones best.
